Fully Assembled and Programmed Microcontroller (ATmega8) Based Temperature Controller. This Circuit controls the temperature of any heating device which is connected to output relay. Temperature can be set using buttons provided on kit. LCD Display shows current temperature and set point.

Description

Micro-controller Based Temperature Controller. This Circuit controls the temperature of any heating device which is connected to output relay. Circuit consists of LCD, temperature sensor and ATmega8 Microcontroller. Relay output is connected to heating element, As per the set point set using buttons, microcontroller compares the Actual temperature with set point if temperature is below set point it turn on heater (relay). This project is consists of following main parts

  1. Power Supply
  2. Microcontroller ATmega8
  3. LCD
  4. Button for temperature settings.
  5. Relays which operate heating element.

What You Need to Buy Additional to make this work ?

  1. Heater.
  2. You have to connect heating element (heater).
  3. Enclosure box for Electrical Safety
  4. Wiring of Electrical heater with this circuits.

Microcontroller Based Temperature Controller Program

Testing of Circuit

  1. Turn on circuit with 12V 1Amp Power supply
  2. Set Temperature to desired point.
  3. Apply heat to temperature sensor.
  4. LCD will display current temperature reading and setpoint.
  5. If current temperature is less than set point, heater relay will turn on else becomes off.
  6. To make control action in loop place temperature sensor near to the heater.
